From Paper to Pixels

The Edible Learning Lab – all 274 lessons – are now online!

Edible education web-based curriculum

More than 3 years ago, Dave and I sat around a campfire in Sedona painting the broad strokes of what would become the Edible Learning Lab and even then we dreamed of it being available online to teachers all over the world.

We made it our mission to bring edible education to every student K-12.

Today, we are very proud to announce that dream, at least in part, is now a reality. We have gone from a curriculum printed in full color on waterproof tear resistant paper to hundreds of online pages of pixel perfection.

Less Cost, Less Waste

Our goal to take the Edible Learning Lab online was driven by our desire to reduce production costs and reduce waste. With more than 460 pages, our curriculum cost nearly $700 to print in full color on fancy paper. We can deliver that same mountain of content online for a fraction of the cost. Our new subscription model offers full access to all 270+ lessons for less than $1 a day with an annual subscription. And that means more teachers and schools can leverage the collective knowledge in our program for their students at budget friendly pricing.

Access 24/7/365 from Any Device

The transition online also opens up access in a number of ways. We designed the online Station Hubs and Lessons to provide a seamless and user-friendly experience on the desktop, laptop, tablet, or Smartphone. They can now be accessed any day of the week, even in the wee hours of the morning from any device within reach.

Our vision of teachers walking the outdoor garden space with a tablet or Smartphone in hand is now more than reality, it’s the norm. Teachers can pull Lessons and Supporting Resources up on a SMART Board on the fly in the classroom to clarify a concept or show examples to the class. Access online is a complete game-changer for the garden and classroom.

Budget Friendly Subscription Options

The biggest benefit of the move online is that we can now offer the Edible Learning Lab in its entirety for a fraction of the cost of the print version. We’ve created a variety of subscription options to fit even the tightest budget. And the best part is that there are no contracts so you can cancel anytime if you feel it’s not what you need for your program. You can even upgrade, downgrade, or pause your subscription as needed. Want to add more teachers to your account? Just upgrade to a School or District subscription. Not going to need access for the summer months? Just pause your subscription until you return. Want to save money? Consider the two Yearly Subscription options.

Take a Test Drive

The best way to experience our program is to take it for a test drive. We call it a 1 Day Hall Pass and it’s absolutely free if you’re interested. Sign up for your 1 Day Hall Pass and get a special discount on an all-access subscription.
