It’s not just the little creepy crawlies that threaten the plants in the Lab. Bacteria, fungus, and environmental conditions resulting from human error represent some of the other challenges.
Too much or too little light, overwatering, temperatures above or below the target range for a specific variety. Those are all notable adversaries of today’s indoor farmer. Of course, the countless strains or bacteria and fungi also challenge the delicate balance of the food production system.
Mother Nature designed plants with an early warning system. The signs of trouble are seen as discolored leaves, darkened stem, wilted branches, or any other number of abnormalities. For the experienced grower, these signals indicate not just the problem but also the possible solution.
Catalog plant problems as they arise with photos, descriptions, treatment protocols, and outcomes. This catalog will serve as a resource for future students in the Lab who will learn from your experience.
