Light is Life
Lesson Overview
Teach the Teacher
Method
Light reflects off many structures in the garden. Fencing, trellises, walls, and rocks all come to mind.
How does that reflected light impact the development of the surrounding plants, if it affects them at all? Can those surfaces be used to create an advantage in the garden or Lab?
Develop an experiment to test the effects of reflected light on the development of sprouts. In a closed environment, introduce light reflected off of various types and colors of surfaces.
Which surface/color produces the most effective reflected light for sprout development? Use plain white as the control.
