Lesson Overview

Seed catalogs are one of the greatest literary works of all time. Ok, that may be a bit of a stretch. But in this lesson, students will tap their creative juices to create a photo catalog of seeds from their library.

Method

Seed catalogs are preferred reading material at Modern Steader HQ. We look forward to the onslaught of catalogs that begin to arrive by mail after the first of the year. We like sorting through them looking for compelling backstories that inspire us to grow new things in the coming Spring.

Create a photo catalog of the seeds in your seed library that you can share with local gardeners. At a minimum, your catalog should include the variety, plant family, description, history, planting instructions, and photo of the seeds or mature plant.
